We now have official confirmation that the move to the expenses-only volunteer model in September will NOT go ahead.
Please see this letter from Minister Keir Mather from the Department for Transport in which he says, “I can therefore confirm that plans to move to the expenses-only volunteer model in September will not go ahead, and current arrangements will remain in place.“ and then he explains the next steps.
We could see he was heading that way in the questioning we did in Parliament, but good to have it in writing.
