The UK Government’s Animal Welfare Strategy, published in December, contained 70 positive recommendations for raising welfare standards across companion, farm animals, and wildlife.
Last week, I met with the RSPCA in Parliament and joined them in urging the UK Government to publish a clear timeline for implementing the new commitments and calling for an annual debate in Parliament to review the state of animal welfare and progress on the Strategy.
