Many parents have had to make the difficult decision between spending time at home for the first weeks of their child’s life and going back to work so they don’t lose their job.
As part of Labour’s Employment Rights Act, from April:
- 1.5m parents will get the right to unpaid parental leave from day one
- 32,000 more dads can access paternity leave immediately
- More support to bereaved parents when they need it most
