I recently met Melanie James, former High Sheriff of West Glamorgan, at Lewis Construction in Trostre as she launched her ambition to extend the roll out of Critical Bleed Control kits to Carmarthenshire.
Great to see Lewis Construction keeping them in the workplace, on their sites and in their vehicles and to hear from Steve Richards from Llanelli Fire Station about how he was able to use one to deal with a passer-by who sustained a serious head injury from a nasty fall.
These kits have the potential to save lives across Carmarthenshire. I hope we can persuade others to provide them in workplaces and vehicles too. I look forward to working with Melanie on identifying host sites, potential funders and training opportunities to maximize uptake locally.
