Pleasure to visit Cwm Gwendraeth Men’s Shed (who also welcome women) at their HQ at the back of the former Gwendraeth School in Drefach this morning.
They have an impressive suite of buildings and a community garden, where they meet to socialise, learn new skills such as wood turning, and produce an impressive range of items. These include walking sticks, garden furniture, ornaments and clocks…….. mostly made from scrap timber…… with great examples of reusing and upcycling.
I was also impressed by the model railway they have constructed, complete with the former Cwmmawr station, as well as a model of the Llanelli Railway Goods Shed, as it would have been, with a train inside and cranes unloading goods.
