From securing fair pay to protecting workers from exploitation, unions make workplaces fairer & stronger. I’m backing Labour’s plan to #MakeWorkPay and stand with trade unions fighting for fairness at work.
We’ve already:
- Boosted the pay packets of 3.5 million workers with the biggest ever cash boost to the National Minimum and National Living wage.
- Protected the payslips of working people and invested in public services.
Labour’s new Employment Rights Bill will also:
- Make work secure by cracking down on fire and rehire and ending exploitative zero-hour contracts.
- Make work family-friendly with employment rights from day one, including parental leave, strengthened pregnancy rights and protection from unfair dismissal.
