Making Britain a clean energy superpower will slash bills, create jobs and deliver security with cheaper zero-carbon electricity by 2030. ???

Labour has already lifted the onshore wind ban in England, approved solar projects able to power the equivalent of almost 400,000 homes and set up a National Wealth Fund to invest in good clean energy jobs across the country.

I support the further action the UK Labour Government is taking including establishing a taskforce to drive forward onshore wind projects, measures to deliver a revolution in rooftop solar and a firm commitment to offshore wind.

The recent King’s Speech also included a Bill to enable us to establish GB Energy, a new, publicly-owned energy production company which will own, manage and operate clean power projects up and down the country.

GB Energy will:

make money for the taxpayer.

deliver the next generation of good jobs.

save money for families by slashing energy bills.

give us energy security so we are not reliant on foreign dictators like Putin.

do our duty to help the planet.

I look forward to supporting these and other measures so we can use homegrown clean energy to tackle the urgent challenges of energy insecurity and the climate crisis, and to cut bills and create jobs.
