As the dust settles on a hard-fought General Election campaign, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people of the Llanelli constituency for giving me another opportunity to represent you as your voice in Westminster.
I will work tirelessly to serve everyone, regardless of which way you voted, and to bring about the much-needed change that our area needs and deserves.
I am already following up on local and national issues that were raised with me during the campaign and I will continue to do everything I can to improve life here in our constituency.
My top priorities include defending jobs at Tata Steel in Trostre and holding Plaid Cymru Carmarthenshire County Council to account for their failure to attract new investment to Llanelli, especially in our town centre, and for their lack of attention to street cleaning, roads maintenance and other important services.
I also remain vigorously opposed to their deplorable decision to u-turn on providing a new school for the pupils of Ysgol Heol Goffa.
Fighting hard for our local NHS, reductions in waiting lists and improvements to access to GP, hospital and dental care is high on my agenda too.
Nationally, it is now becoming clear how much of a mess the Tories have left. The new Labour Government has hit the ground running but the hard work of change is only beginning. It will not be an easy ride but I am hopeful that people will soon be able to see the real difference that a Labour Government in Westminster can bring.
My Llanelli office is now open again and if you have any local policy or casework issues that you would like to discuss with me and my team then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
