Not only must we ensure justice and compensation for all the subpostmasters, subpostmistresses and clerks wronged by the shocking Horizon scandal, but to avoid similar scandals we must empower people against public bodies closing ranks.
That’s why I am calling on the Government to re-think their refusal to introduce a Hillsborough Law which would put a legal duty on public servants to be truthful and to release crucial information.
