I had the opportunity to spend time meeting with a number of charities and campaigning organisations that do sterling work earlier this week while I was at the Labour Party conference in Liverpool.
Two such groups are the RNIB and Guide Dogs.
Breaking down barriers for people with sight loss is an ongoing battle and I was keen to hear about their latest concerns and challenges including problems visually impaired people are facing with pavement parking, access to public facilities and making sure that they get the right support at home and at work.
A lot has been achieved but there is still a lot more to be done.
