Good to welcome Rev D Ben Rees this week for the Parliamentary launch of his significant book ‘Jim’ about Rt Hon Jim Griffiths, MP for Llanelli for 34 years, and who as Minister for National Insurance in the 1945 Labour Government laid the foundations for the modern welfare state… with the Acts on family allowances, industrial injury, national insurance and assistance.
