Home > News > Time to ban plastic in wet wipes

When we joined the Marine Conservation Society for a beach clean in Llanelli last month, we did not just pick up litter, but also contributed to survey work on the type of litter that we found, as this then helps the MCS lobby governments about what the problem items are.

Whereas normally we tend to see the big items of litter, the MCS explained how very small items such as plastics pose a real threat to marine life as they are easily ingested.

We really can make a difference by cutting out the plastic in things, so that’s why I am very pleased to support my Labour colleague Fleur Anderson’s Bill to #banplasticinwetwipes.

They, like many other things, can be made without harmful plastics, so let’s make sure that happens. https://www.fleuranderson.co.uk/ban-plastic-in-wet-wipes/
