Llanelli Railway Goods Shed has now secured the funding needed for phase one of the renovation of this listed building for community use.

The Garfield Weston Foundation has stepped in with £90k to add to the funding provided by the Railway Heritage Trust, Carmarthenshire County Council and Welsh Government.

As Chair of the Trustees of the Goods Shed, I am grateful to the Garfield Weston Foundation for pledging these funds to us. This is the final piece of the funding jig-saw which will enable us to get started.

This is a really exciting time for this part of Llanelli.  The renovation will give a real boost to the area.

Local schools have already been involved with us in exploring the industrial heritage of the area and the important contribution of the railway to the development of Llanelli.  Through the opportunities in the renovated building, once again the Goods Shed will be contributing to the local economy.
