With the effects of the Climate Emergency beginning to take hold around the world, I have been working with residents from Llanelli to see what can be done locally to make our own communities as green as possible.

Next week, we will be stepping up efforts by holding an online conference to share ideas on schemes and projects for Llanelli that will help families, businesses and other groups lead the way in creating a more sustainable, eco-friendly town.

Taking place on Tuesday, 4th August 2020 at 7pm, the “Green Llanelli – think global, act local” virtual meeting will discuss ways of enhancing and protecting the area’s wildlife and natural landscape, meeting ambitious targets that will lead towards zero carbon and how to encourage more people to live in an environmentally friendly way.

Many residents are keen to see action on a local scale as well as a global one and this conference will give anyone who wants to participate in it a chance to see best practice, have an informed and passionate debate and discuss what can be done on the ground here in Llanelli.
