Congratulations to Chris Rees, Jill Stevens, Ryan Davies & all at Llanelli Youth Theatre on receiving Excellence in Heritage award from Carmarthenshire County Council for their fantastic WW1 project.
The children who took part got so much out of it, and who could forget the amazing exhibition of children’s work at Ffwrnes theatre. Stationed outside were personnel attired as serving WW1 soldiers and medical corps, complete with horse which drew people into the exhibition, and provided great talking points about all sorts of aspects of life on the Western Front from getting food to the horses to the use of anaesthetics.
Then the performance of “Oh what a lovely war!” was absolutely exceptional, with people talking about it for weeks afterwards.
