This year, as well as signing the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment in Parliament to express my solemn commitment to combat anti-semitism, I had the privilege of attending the Holocaust Remembrance Day commemoration at the Foreign Office. There we heard Mala Tribich MBE, who survived the Holocaust, give an extremely moving account of the horrific events she experienced and witnessed.
As I wrote in the Book of Commitment, we must never, ever let anything like that happen again, and so we must always speak up and challenge prejudice and anti-semitism, whatever form it takes. Today our thoughts are with all those whose lives were taken or destroyed by the Holocaust.
