On Monday I was very pleased to attend the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag over Llanelli Town Hall. The flag will be flying all week and over the weekend in celebration of Armed Forces Day on Saturday 24th June and Reserves Day on Wednesday 21st June.

Armed Forces Day is a great opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate our Servicemen and women, veterans and Forces families and to thank them for all the work they do for us.

As Shadow Secretary of State for Defence I’ve been able to visit many of our service personnel, at home and abroad, and see first-hand the fantastic work they do. I’d like to extend my thanks to them and I will keep fighting in Parliament for a better deal for them on pay, housing and welfare.

There will be events happening all over the UK to celebrate Armed Forces Day and I would encourage everyone to go along and show their support and learn a bit more about what our Armed Forces do.
