What a privilege it was to join the dedicated League of Friends of Prince Philip Hospital for their annual strawberry tea. Their tireless work fundraising for Prince Philip Hospital has enabled consultants to have access to state of the art equipment, and all this helps to attract high quality staff and build up departments – this is vital not only to provide the best for the residents of Llanelli, but also to strengthen the case to the Hywel Dda University Health Board to keep the widest possible range of services in Prince Philip Hospital, and I will continue to speak up strongly for Llanelli at the regular meetings I have with the Chair and Chief Executive of the Health Board.

We were also lucky to have very moving entertainment from the Salvation Army’s Mothers and Daughters’ Choir, who sadly have lost one of their beloved members Rhian Hatch who passed away recently from cancer.  Our thoughts were very much with Rhian’s mother Arlene Tucker who would usually have been singing with the choir, and her whole family.

A big thank you to everyone for your support for our hospital.
