Young and old came from across Wales recently to meet Jeremy Corbyn MP and members of the Shadow Cabinet in the Houses of Parliament. After a brief welcome from Nia Griffith MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, the visitors had the opportunity to hear Lisa Nandy MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Energy speak and answer questions about Labour’s energy and climate change policies. Then, when the MPs were summoned by the bell to go off to vote, Baroness Eluned Morgan, Labour’s spokesperson for Wales in the House of Lords, explained how Labour has managed to galvanise support from Lib Dems and some crossbenchers in the Lords in order to defeat some of the more extreme elements in the Conservative Government’s legislative programme.
Then hot-footed back from the vote, Jeremy Corbyn MP, Leader of the Labour Party, delighted his audience with his straight talking, and generosity with his time in chatting to individuals afterwards. Many of the visitors also took the chance to finish off the evening with a tour of the Houses of Parliament, before setting off home for Wales.
