Nia Griffith MP and Labour Assembly candidate Keith Davies have joined trade unions and campaigners to fight against care home closures.
Speaking at a recent public meeting, Keith said, “We must work together to convince every councillor on Carmarthenshire Council to back our demands to keep the care homes open. The latest report is vague and we want definite assurances about the homes in Llanelli, as well as those in Ammanford and Camarthen”.
Nia added “We need the option of full time residential care run by the local authority. We say NO to privatisation because it leads to doing things on the cheap which means either less care or worse pay and conditions for staff. We want the very best for our elderly citizens, and nothing less.”
