Swift action by Labour’s Nia Griffith last year meant that the County Council shelved plans to close the town’s paddling pools. They made it clear however that this would be one year only. So Town Councillor Hubert Hitchman and Nia Griffith held a public meeting about Crown Park Paddling Pool in Seaside and decided to approach Llanelli Town Council to take over the funding of the pools. With the support of Carl Lucas, Labour Group leader on the Town Council, Town Councillors have now agreed to fund the three pools – in Crown Park, Parc Howard and People’s Park for the next three years.
Nia said “I am delighted that the Town Council have now agreed to fund the pools, and would like to thank all the people who signed the petition we did last year”
