Nia Griffith MP has backed calls for a supermarket watchdog while speaking in support of a bill proposed by Ynys Mon MP Albert Owen. During the debate on the Bill, Nia warned that local farmers could be forced out of business unless the Government creates a supermarket Ombudsman.
She said:
“It is crucial that we stop portraying farmers as simply whingeing, what they want is a fair deal. They want their concerns to be taken seriously and they want a fair price.”
