Met earlier this month with former Roadchef employees who were swindled out of money by the company’s former Chairman. The money was recovered in 2014 but they are still waiting for HMRC to let them have it.
I have written to HMRC urging them to resolve this dispute as a matter of urgency and ensure those affected, many of whom were on low pay at Roadchef and don’t have substantial pensions, get their money. They simply cannot wait any longer.
