Last Sunday Llanelli MP Nia Griffith took part as a day guest walker in the Rhys Meirion Walk On Wales in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance. First Minister Carwyn Jones AM was at the launch of the walk in Swansea and the Llanelli MP joined the walk on Sunday morning, walking from the Stradey Park Hotel Llanelli to Cwmcerrig Farm Shop where the tired walkers were generously treated to a carvery lunch thanks to the shop’s owners.

Nia commented:

“It was a real privilege to take part in Rhys Meirion’s very prestigious walk, and also to have a chance to talk to one of the Air Ambulance pilots, and to find out more about their work and their current concerns. I very much enjoyed my 13-mile half-day walk, but I really take my hat off to the core team who are walking some 200 miles, the length of Wales, in the searing heat this week. I bet they’ll be glad to see Caernarfon! Now, to chase up my sponsors!”
