Owen Smith MP Shadow Secretary of State for Wales has launched Welsh Labour’s key seat campaign, identifying Tory, Lib Dem and Plaid Cymru held seats that it wants to gain in order to secure victory in the General Election in 2015. The 8 Welsh target seats include 3 in west Wales: Carmarthen East, Carmarthen West and Preseli Pembs.

At the launch in Carmarthen, Nia Griffith said, “It is very worrying seeing the effects of the Tories’ failed economic policies, leaving businesses and families alike struggling to make ends meet and offering little hope of a brighter future for our young people. That’s why we absolutely must do everything we can to secure a Labour victory at the next general election in 2015, and to do that, we need to work hard for the seats we already hold like Llanelli, and to gain enough seats to form a Labour government, which means winning seats like Carmarthen West, Carmarthen East and Preseli.”
