No joy today for the Swansea Tidal Lagoon from the Chancellor in his Spring Statement.
It is just so disappointing that the UK Government is still not giving the go-ahead when so much work has been done, and private investment funds have been identified for this project which could secure local jobs. There is no risk to the taxpayer as we only start paying when the electricity comes on line.
The Government should listen to the independent Hendry review which said go ahead, go ahead now to get ahead of the game and invest in our steel industry so we can make the components.
