Today we mark 100 years since some women first got the right to vote.

We had our Shadow Cabinet meeting at the Museum of London, which is hosting a fantastic exhibition on Votes for Women to celebrate this centenary and the Suffragettes who fought tirelessly for women’s suffrage.

Whilst it is important to celebrate this early milestone and the progress we’ve made since then on gender equality, we must reflect on what more needs to done and redouble our efforts to achieve it.
