This morning I had the privilege of speaking to Prospect Union defence workers, we had a good discussion, vital we have effective long-term defence industrial strategy to give industry the certainty it needs to plan ahead, and which factors in the benefit to local jobs and our economy when awarding contracts.
Then this afternoon I addressed top French military and defence personnel and, guess what, they have a very strong defence industrial strategy, with decisions on future capability requirements really helping to drive industry.
