It was an absolute pleasure to attend the Kidwelly Lunch Club’s first ever Christmas lunch yesterday. We were celebrating the first year of the club’s operation with members and special guests from the local community.

We were treated to a full Christmas meal cooked by care home Glanmorfa, a raffle and singing by Richie Jones. The food was delicious and it was wonderful to spend time with people from Kidwelly and Mynydd y Garreg.

I would like to thank Philip Thompson, local town councillor and director of local social enterprise Ynghyd, and all the volunteers at the Community Hub who work so hard to bring this brilliant service to the community.

The Kidwelly Lunch Club on the last Thursday of every month in the Princess Gwenllian Centre, funded by he National Lottery and Kidwelly Town Council with support from Burns Pet Nutrition. It was launched this year by the Kidwelly Community Hub and Ynghyd to promote social inclusion and tackle lonliness and isolation.

Anyone interested in attending the Kidwelly Lunch Club or any of the Hub’s other activities should either call into the Hub on Bridge Street or phone Lisa Lloyd on 07469 734987.
