Nia Griffith MP joined members of the Pembrey Mountain Trust at their open day at the former gunnery which is situated on the road into Pembrey Airport. Members of the Trust hope to renovate this unique building where airmen were trained during the war, so that it can be opened to visitors. They hope also to include information about the military history of the area and would be pleased to hear from anyone who has information to contribute.

Nia commented,

“I am delighted that members of the Pembrey Mountain Trust are doing so much to try and restore the Gunnery, so that we can share the story of what happened here with a wider public. This area has a significant military history, and it would be good to use the project of restoring this unusual building as an incentive to take down the stories from those who still have war-time memories, before it is too late.”
