Mayors dinner April 2016

Along with Llanelli Town and Rural Councillors, members of Rotary and other guests, Nia Griffith MP enjoyed a rather different charity dinner from the usual at the Selwyn Samuel Centre. The evening was made special by the fact that the guests were entertained during the meal by beautiful singing by Angharad Elise, music by Andrew Murray and singing from the Blue Bees  – that is when they were not busy waiting at the tables.

Cllr Chris Reed, Deputy Mayor and compere for the evening paid tribute to the excellent work Mayor Shahana Najmi has done throughout the year, and, of course, the main purpose of the evening was to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, so Vicky from the Trust gave a very moving explanation of the vital and heart-warming work the Trust does in supporting teenagers with cancer.
