Nia Griffith MP has demanded a review of the recent changes to the 173-bus service from Pembrey to Prince Philip Hospital following complaints from local residents.

Nia has told First Cymru that the timetable changes implemented 6th June 2012, have adversely affected passengers who rely upon this service, and asked the company to think again.

Nia said, “It is important that bus services reflect the needs of passengers, and I am worried that it may now be more difficult for patients and staff to get to the hospital. Members of staff who finished work at 5pm used to catch the 5.08pm bus but now I understand the last 173 bus leaves the hospital at 3.03pm, which is no good. And leaving people in Brynymor and Tanybryn with no bus service at all could make some of the residents there virtually housebound. I will be pursuing this vigorously.”
