On Tuesday night Nia Griffith MP addressed a packed public meeting of the Committee for the Improvement of Hospital Services, called to elect new committee members and gear up for action in the light of the anticipated publication at the end of November of the plans for the future of health services in the area.

Addressing the meeting, Nia praised the committee for their previous work in saving the accident and emergency service, and pledged to work hard with the committee to make the strongest possible  case to the health board to keep services at Prince Philip Hospital, the hospital that is accessible by far more people  than any other hospital in West Wales –it is  within a 20 minute drive of almost  50% of the population of Carmarthenshire.
