Nia Griffith MP with the newly formed Llangennech Park Association.

Faith can move mountains, so we are told. Well, with the help of MP Nia Griffith driving the plan forward and the expertise of local farmer and businessman Aled Harries, the newly formed Llangennech Park Association intends to move the Mwrwg River!

At a recent meeting organised by Nia Griffith MP, Llangennech residents joined together to form the Llangennech Park Association. It has been set up to draw down funding that is available to community groups. The aim is for a new football field in the park and measures to combat flooding in the surrounding area.

Nia Griffith MP said, “It is a pleasure to work with someone like Aled who has come up with a constructive idea—which will help both the football club and local residents who have suffered from flooding. I am delighted that residents representing various park user groups such as the cricket, the bowls, the football, the playgroup and people living near the Park have volunteered to be on the committee”.
