Nia Griffith MP, Keith Davies, Labour’s Assembly Candidate and local Usdaw rep Steve Lloyd Janes have been out and about in Llanelli Town Centre highlighting Usdaw’s Respect for Shopworkers Week to shoppers and shopworkers alike.

do their job safely. That’s why I am backing Usdaw, the shop workers’ union in their Freedom from Fear campaign, calling for respect for retail workers. A recent survey by Usdaw shows that over one million shopworkers have been assaulted, threatened or verbally abused in the last twelve months”.
Keith Davies added, “I think it’s really important that we do all we can to prevent violence; threats and abuse against shopworkers. We must get out a clear message that bad behaviour is never acceptable and will not be tolerated. An old adage springs to mind, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself that’s why I’m backing Usdaws campaign to Keep Your Cool at Christmas and Respect Shopworkers!”
